Hubungan Pengetahuan, Sikap, Dan Tindakan Kontrol Plak Dengan Kondisi Jaringan Periodontal Pada Remaja Usia 15-19 Tahun: Studi Observasional Potong-Lintang

Penyakit periodontal merupakan penyakit inflamasi kronis yang disebabkan oleh akumulasi plak akibat kurangnya menjaga kebersihan gigi dan mulut. Upaya pencegahan meliputi perilaku kontrol plak yang mencakup pengetahuan, sikap, dan tindakan melalui metode mekanis maupun kimiawi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan pengetahuan, sikap, dan tindakan kontrol plak dengan kondisi jaringan periodontal pada remaja usia 15-19 tahun di SMA Negeri 06 Samarinda. Jenis penelitian adalah observasional analitik dengan pendekatan cross-sectional. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling. Sampel terdiri dari 97 siswa SMA Negeri 06 Samarinda. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner untuk mengukur pengetahuan, sikap, dan tindakan kontrol plak serta pemeriksaan kondisi jaringan periodontal menggunakan indeks Community Periodontal Index (CPI). Analisis data menggunakan uji Chi-Square dan korelasi Spearman. Hasil menunjukkan mayoritas perilaku responden (36,1%) berada pada kategori sedang. Hasil uji bivariat menunjukkan adanya hubungan signifikan antara pengetahuan (p=0,000; r=-0,647), sikap (p=0,000; r=-0,686), dan tindakan (p=0,000; r=-0,743) dengan kondisi jaringan periodontal. Disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang kuat antara pengetahuan, sikap, dan tindakan kontrol plak dengan kondisi jaringan periodontal pada remaja usia 15-19 tahun di SMA Negeri 06 Samarinda. Implikasi penelitian ini adalah perlunya peningkatan edukasi kesehatan gigi yang komprehensif pada remaja melalui program sekolah
